Jeremy Sassoon has had 2 successful careers; in medicine and music. He studied piano and trumpet at the Royal Northern College of Music (1973 - 1983) and studied Medicine at the Middlesex Hospital, London (1983 - 1988). He went on to train as a psychiatrist, whilst at the same time gaining musical experience musically directing shows and playing keyboards & trumpet in Jazz, Blues and Soul bands.
In 1995, he left his career in Psychiatry to launch a new full-time career in music, providing his own style of music for clubs, Jazz residencies and private events. Over14 years, he has developed several longstanding musical relationships with top musicians in the North West of England and London
Jeremy has set up several successful live Jazz residencies in the North West. He has performed at the Manchester, Birmingham & Wigan Jazz Festivals, as well as Europe's prestigious 'North Sea Jazz Festival' in The Hague, Netherlands. He has also performed in France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Hong Kong, New York, San Francisco, Sydney and Brisbane.
Jazz is often burdened by negative stereotypes, and Jeremy attempts to break these. His delivery is slick, yet avoids taking itself 'too' seriously. The music is accessible to all. Consequently, Jeremy has a following of up to 1,000 people of all ages, backgrounds and musical tastes who follow his gigs. Please enjoy this site. All comments or enquiries are welcomed.
