"a remarkable singer with a flexible daring approach, whose adventurous improvising belied her years"
As a teen, Zoe began performing in pantomimes and road shows supporting artists such as East 17, The Spice Girls and Ocean Colour Scene. Her flame for Jazz was ignited after listening to the Miles Davis recording of Porgy and Bess, which led to her first professional singing gig aged 15 and her next big love affair; creating music. She went on to study popular music at Salford University before turning fully professional.
Zoe has performed at Jazz festivals throughout the UK, including Manchester, Keswick, Walsall, Wigan, Birmingham, Morecambe and Preston. She has made 2 appearances on Granada TV, most notably in 2004 for ther performance on the Andy Prior Big Band Show alongside Jacqui Dankworth and Bill Tarmey.
More recently she has taken up the acoustic guitar and performs regularly as singer/guitarist. She also fronts her own band 'The Magic Beans', whose songs dip into Jazz, Country, Pop & Soul, reflecting the breadth of Zoe's chosen musical styles.
Zoe has been performing alongside Jeremy Sassoon for over 10 years, performing regularly at Jazz residencies and recording as a trio with Tim Franks (drums).
