Book Jeremy Sassoon as:
Jeremy was originally classically trained on piano and trumpet at the RNCM, but developed a passion for Jazz at an early age, listening to Oscar Peterson, Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis and Pat Metheny. Over the last 15 years as a professional musician, Jeremy has struck a balance between using the piano as a solo instrument, and one for accompaniment, as can be heard backing the other artists on this site. He shows a strong feel for all the essential elements of good piano playing... melody, harmony and rhythm, but also adds those intangible ingredients of 'personality' and passion in his playing.
He has entertained equally as a solo pianist, or with a rhythm section around UK and Europe. Much of his work also involves 'splitting the keyboard'... whereby he plays 'left hand bass' and 'right hand piano', giving the impression of a bigger band than is actually playing. This has created his distinctive 'sound', heard on many of the clips on this site.
Jeremy uses only the finest players in his rhythm section. Dave Walsh (drums) has been Jeremy's right hand man for 14 years, and Pete Turner & Ollie Collins are bass players of the highest level.. Together, his rhythm section is called 'The Jazz Prescription'. Listen to these clips and check out the Testimonials page.
